Sri Windsor Cafe in Glendale

This place is unique.

Sri Windsor Cafe
123 W Windsor Rd
Glendale, CA 91204
Neighborhood: Glendale

I've ordered delivery a few times from my office... Great lunch specials for home cooked style Thai food. Green curry, Thai BBQ chicken, garlic pork, etc... I heard they have a food stand in Hollywood Farmers Market... so check em out! i promise good food.

What makes this a special establishment is not really the food... It's more about the location of this place.

The restaurant in located inside a institutionalized looking concrete building. Next to the entrance you will see a bulletin board filled with sobriety living listings. The building belongs to the Windsor Club (Alcoholism Treatment, Addiction Treatment)... Interesting right?

outside of the restaurant

Inside, you will be greeted by a receptionist... then you walk through to the restaurant... sit and order your food. Occasionally during dining you will notice interesting characters passing through the center... It's kinda like people watching at the mall, but a little different.

Sri Windsor Cafe

I ordered the Thai BBQ Chicken with fried rice and egg roll lunch special... Beth ordered Pad See Ew (broccoli and wide rice noodle with brown sauce). As expected, it's got that home cooked Thai Food taste... very enjoyable!

You should definitely give this place a shot, its worth the experience :) BYOB

Astro Family Restaurant

Gosh, do I really have to write about this place? I mean, it wasn't a bad experience at all, but to me Astro Burger is just another American diner... just my opinion :)

That being said, the year Hilary Swank won the Oscar Awards, instead of going to the after party, she insisted on going to Astro Burger! (if you don't know who she is, she was in the Next Karate Kid 1994).

I went to their website and this is under their About section, pretty interesting stuff.

Pho Sho!

If you are a big fan of pho or Vietnamese food you'll know about this famous spot located in SGV (San Gabriel Valley)... Golden Deli!

Well, Beth and I stumbled upon this new joint in Temple City... its the Golden Deli's little baby...

GOLDEN DELI EXPRESS
815 W Las Tunas Dr
San Gabriel, CA 91776
(626) 308-0803

What's express about it? well, you order your food at a counter... pay... grab your number... then your food will be delivered to your table...  since you've already paid for your food you can just get up and leave when you're done... oh like a fastfood restaurant, duh!

Most importantly, the food is just as delicious as the original restaurant!  And the express restaurant allows you to customize your order :)

Check out the mouth watering photos!

My Lunch is Better Than Yours

My co-worker Roberto brought me a pull pork sandwich from Pecos Bill's BBQ in Glendale. This sandwich is messy but extremely delicious... The sauce is different from any other BBQ sandwiches, they drench your meat with this smokey gravy that's to die for! I think I might want another one in a few hours! sooooo good!

What Happens in Vegas

...stays in Joe's belly!

If I have all the money in the world I would definitely dine at ALL the finest restaurants in Las Vegas.  Joel Robuchon's restaurant located in MGM Grand was definitely "Grand"!  Beth loves French cuisine.  The fact that the restaurant specializes in traditional French cuisine, will for sure earn me some major brownie points!  I mean I could win the Best Husband Award...  Can you imagine how much Beth would love to dine at this gorgeous palace?

Well, sorry wife... maybe next time :p

Joel Robuchon

Il Fornaio Restaurant and Bakery was our final choice for our dinner in Las Vegas.  We know it's a chain restaurant and it's not the fanciest restaurant in the world, but it's located inside our hotel New York New York.

Beth ordered the Fettuccine alla Friulana (Fettuccine pasta with Italian sausage, mushrooms, onions, tomato, thyme and cream sauce). She loved it so much, she ate the whole thing. I think she licked the plate after :)

sausage pasta of some sort

I ordered Pizza Vegetariana (Fresh asparagus, grilled zucchini, fresh tomatoes, roasted reb bell peppers, button mushrooms, smoked mozzarella and basil). After I ate all that meat from the Korean BBQ few days ago, I feel the need to clean out my system by eating more veggies :)

That was a great dinner! we were satisfied and ready to walk off the calories :)  Check out some of the photos I took during the walk to the liquor store.
