Beach Breakfast to Wine Tasting

Few days ago, while Beth's dad was still here in L.A. we went on a wine country day trip up around the Santa Barbara area.  On the way up we stopped by a little restaurant called Summerland Beach Cafe.  Beth's has been here several times, and the food has always been good!  The place is like a mom and pops diner that serves awesome delicious breakfast plates.  Omelets, bacon, ham, country fried tomatoes, and their very own home made apple butter!

I don't drink wine (long story)... So, I don't do any of the tastings... it gives me bad heartburns :(
Beth loves wine, so she picked out three of her favorite wineries to visit!

We were happy that while L.A. was being showered on... Santa Barbara was nice and sunny!

We're Back! Now What?

We are Back!!! back, back to Cali...

This is the moment we've been waiting for after 3 weeks in Taiwan.

PIZZA! We miss pizza so much!  Minutes after Beth and I stepped into our home in Pasadena, I drove to Atwater Village and ordered Crispy Crust pizza and wings! The food was so good and we ate so fast... by the time I remember to take a photo of the pizza for the blog... we had eaten most of it! Oops!



Next morning... We woke up and decided that... well, since we just had pizza... we should hit up Mexican food right? why not! So I went to El Taquito Mexican Restaurant (Lake Ave. and Villa in Pasadena) and bought two burritos, two tacos and some chips'n guacamole :) now lets EAT!



I may be a Taiwanese, but I sure do love pizza and Mexican food!

Hotel to Metro Station

Comfort Inn offers complimentary breakfast, right? Well, the hotel we stayed at does too! But the difference is... they don't have microwaved eggs or hard bagels... instead they have a full spread of food from salad bar to gourmet Asian dishes!

here is a photo of Beth's first plate... Japanese steam egg, yam, snow peas, and marinated Shiitake mushrooms! Oh, and bacon!



On our way to the Metro station we stopped by a McCafe that actually looks like a real coffee house... they grind and brew fresh coffee beans to order! American McDonalds should be ashamed!



Right before we got to the station we got distracted by the fragrance of beef noodle soup. This is not any typical beef noodle soup... this is "hand shaved noodles". I can't really describe the deliciousness of this meal... i'll let my photos do the justice :) Enjoy! I hope you are hungry when you looked at the photos.

Breakfast... Taiwan Style!

If you are familiar with the SGV (San Gabriel Valley) area... I am sure you are familiar with Taiwanese breakfast. Well, food is always better from where it originated! Beth agrees completely! When she took her first sip of the soy drink here in Taiwan... she instantly compared it with the soy drink in SGV... its way better!

This display of food only cost us a around 5 US dollars!



Guess what we are having for breakfast tomorrow? Same thing we've been having every morning... Taiwanese breakfast! Yum Yum !!!
